Everything stays on your network

Couchius sends remote commands directly from your iPhone to TVs on the same Wi‑Fi network. To find your TVs it looks at devices on your local network, which iOS asks you to allow the first time. We do not operate a server that receives your commands, your TV list or anything about your network.

What's stored on your iPhone

The app keeps your paired TVs (name, model, local address and, where the TV provides it, its network hardware address for turning it on), the pairing keys your TVs issue, your chosen look and your Kid Mode settings. These stay on your iPhone; pairing keys are kept in the iOS keychain.

No account

The app has no sign-up and no login. We don't collect your name, email or phone number.

Purchases and the free week

The free week, Lifetime and Monthly are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Apple shares anonymized sales reports with us.

Diagnostics

If you've opted in to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymous crash and usage data.

This website

This site doesn't use advertising cookies. The TV compatibility checker runs in your browser and doesn't send what you pick anywhere.

If enabled, we use PostHog to count anonymous page views, scroll depth, clicks on App Store buttons and page speed, so we can improve our guides. It's configured without cookies or persistent identifiers and doesn't record sessions. This applies to the website only; the app has no analytics.
